Seattle Roosevelt High School Girls Lacrosse
Welcome!
After an exciting 2024 season where RGLC captured the Metro League title for a second year in a row, we can’t wait to get back on the field! For our 2025 season, we’re excited to welcome back Co-Head Coach Sydney Spadinger and Co-Head Coach Elizabeth Hinson, along with Goalie/Assistant Coach Gwen Armbruster. We are planning on one team that will play in the Varsity division. Players of all skills and abilities are welcome and encouraged to join even if you’re brand new to lacrosse.
Please read through the Key Information & Expectations and note the Important Dates below. CLICK HERE to begin your 2025 registration.
The Roosevelt Girls Lacrosse Club (RGLC) is managed by a volunteer board of parents. Please reach out to us with any questions at rglaxc@gmail.com.
KEY INFORMATION & EXPECTATIONS
Registration Fees
Player fees for the 2025 season are $600.00. RGLC is an independent club that is entirely self-funded. Registration fees make up a significant portion of our budget and cover: Seattle Parks & Rec field charges, coach salaries, WSLA team league fees, and equipment (goals, nets, balls, goalie gear, first aid kit, etc.).
USA Lacrosse Membership
Players must join the USA Lacrosse association for $35 as required by WSLA and RGLC. A current USA Lacrosse Membership Number must be submitted before players may tryout or practice for insurance purposes -- NO EXCEPTIONS. Please apply or renew online at: https://www.usalacrosse.com/membership
Refund Policy
Once the season begins on Monday, February 24, 2025, RGLC does not provide refunds.
Financial Support
For more information about a payment plan or to request financial support, please email Wendy Katzman at wendykatzman@mac.com.
Parent/Guardian Volunteers Needed
We are an independent club that relies entirely on parent volunteers for all operations outside of coaching. We have a range of opportunities and almost none of them require any lacrosse experience. We expect that every family will participate in some way.
Fundraising
Fundraising is necessary to fully support our team because as a club, we do not receive any funds from Seattle Public Schools. Our goal is to have 100% participation from players and families in our fundraising activities. There will be a variety of opportunities for you to find the best fit for your time and talents. If you have fundraising ideas or questions about fundraising, please contact Deb Wepman at debwepman@gmail.com.
Communication
We will be transitioning to the Team Snap platform for club-to-family communication this season, as well as to share practice and game schedules. After you register, parents and your player will receive an invitation to join our Team Snap group. Please download the free Team Snap app and join. Until the season starts, we will still send emails from rglaxc@gmail.com (please save this address to ensure that you receive our emails).
Equipment
All players are expected to have a girls lacrosse stick, a mouthguard (must be a color, not clear), lacrosse goggles, running shoes, and cleats or turf shoes. For players other than goalies, helmets are optional and up to the individual player. If you have equipment questions, please email us at rglaxc@gmail.com.
IMPORTANT DATES
Captains’ Practices
Our 2025 Captains are Carly K., Clementine N., and Lucy S. They are coordinating Captains Practices. Dates and times are shared through on the RGLC Instagram @roosevelt.glax, and through team texting. All players are welcome and encouraged to come! Any questions or to get connected with the team, just email us at rglaxc@gmail.com.
All-Club Meeting - Wednesday, February 12, 2025 @ 7pm in the RHS Commons
Please plan to join us at the annual Mandatory All-Club Meeting for players, parents/guardians, and coaches to talk about expectations, tryouts, etc. and share important information for the upcoming season.
Season Starts - Monday, February 24, 2025
RGLC evaluations start at Roosevelt High School Playfield. Time will be announced.
Spring Jamboree - Sunday, March 9th
RGLC is planning to participate in the Spring Jamboree. This is a ratings jamboree for the officials, but it’s an opportunity to get some game play in. We don’t know which location we will be assigned to yet, but we wanted to make players and families aware of this weekend commitment.
Practice & Game Schedules
Our goal is to post our practice and game schedule by the end of January in the Team Snap calendar.
